Ocean Apartment is a privately owned, spacious 2-bedroom penthouse in the village of Praia Da Luz (Beach of Light) approximately 3 miles west of Lagos in the Western Algarve region of Portugal. Praia da Luz is a delightful, peaceful village set on one of the prettiest sandy beaches in the Algarve. The village has a good variety of restaurants and bars, and the apartment is within easy walking distance of all the local amenities, including the beach and a well stocked supermarket. Beyond Praia da Luz, the vibrant medieval city of Lagos, and the sleepy fishing village of Bergau are a 5 minute drive, and there is a frequent bus service. For golfers, Boa Vista (2 minutes away) and Parc de Floresta are our local courses, there are 2 more within 15km, and a total of 30 courses within a 50km radius.

The apartment is 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom duplex penthouse with large wrap-around balconies overlooking the main Ocean Club swimming pool and with stunning views over the village and the Atlantic Ocean. All rooms have Ocean views, and the apartment has been refurbished to a very high standard, making it a true home from home. Outside For al-fresco dining, both large balconies have tables and chairs and there is a "beer fridge" on the lower balcony to save walking upstairs for a cold drink! There are sun-loungers and a Weber BBQ. There is a lift to the apartment from the car park.

Bedroom Notes There is a small double sofa bed in the living room. Cots with linen can be arranged for an additional charge
General Notes There is maid service and the apartment is cleaned twice a week; rubbish is removed daily. Linen and towels are provided (except for beach towels). Towels and tea-towels are changed mid-week, linen once a week. There is a steam iron and ironing board, and a hair drier.

Getting There: Praia da Luz is 86 kilometers (roughly 53 miles) from the nearest airport in Faro, and the drive takes approximately 50 minutes. Taxis run from outside the terminal building (about 60 Euros each way), and hire car pick-up is adjacent to the terminal. The international airports of Lisbon and Seville are approximately 3 hours drive away.


Activities/Entertainment/Suitability Information:
Local Activities Alongside swimming, tennis and golf, there is good horse riding, walking and cycling (on and off road), and the area is renowned for excellent sailing and surfing. In addition, there is very good fishing (boat and beach) as well as diving.

Suitability The apartment is suitable for couples and families, but please note that there are stairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms on the lower floor, so it is not suitable for wheel-chair users. No smoking and no pets (sorry). Perfect for sun lovers!
